1. ਫਰਮਾ:s. m (ਫਰਮਾ:M) Corrupted fromthe Persian word ਫਰਮਾ:Táaluqah The neighbourhood, the country round# (Sanskritword ਫਰਮਾ:Tal) the bottom, lowest part:—ਫਰਮਾ:talbár, s. m (ਫਰਮਾ:lit the bottom of a heap ofcorn on the threshing-floor.) In dividingthis corn the following shares are setaside.—(1) the ਫਰਮਾ:Mahsúl or the sharethat is supposed to represent the Government demand# -2 ਫਰਮਾ:rahkám, thecultivator's share# -3 ਫਰਮਾ:lichh, the shareof the inferior proprietor. The remainder called ਫਰਮਾ:talbár is devoted to payingthe village servants, superior proprietorsand other small claimants. Sometimesonly the ਫਰਮਾ:mahsúl and ਫਰਮਾ:rahkám are separated, and the ਫਰਮਾ:lichhh is taken from theਫਰਮਾ:talbár
